The Bukittinggi City Education Office, in collaboration with SEAMOLEC successfully held a workshop titled "Workshop on Enhancing the Competence of Teachers and Education Personnel at the Elementary, Junior High, and Non-Formal Education Levels with the Topic: Interactive Virtual Class with Nearpod". The workshop took place at Pusako Hotel, Bukittinggi, from June 17 to 19, 2025. It was attended by 65 teachers from elementary schools, junior high schools, and non-formal education institutions across the city of Bukittinggi. The event aimed to enhance teachers' competencies in integrating technology into the teaching and learning process in a more interactive and engaging.
The Head of the Bukittinggi City Education Office officially opened the workshop, Mr. Herriman, S.H. In his opening remarks, he emphasized the importance of utilizing technology in education, particularly to support 21st-century learning. Following the opening, the session continued with a presentation by SEAMOLEC instructor Aggry Tiharapitra. During the session, Aggry introduced various features of Nearpod that teachers can use to make learning more engaging, such as interactive quizzes, real-time collaboration, and the integration of multimedia content.
Through this workshop, educators in Bukittinggi are expected to become more skilled in utilizing educational technology and capable of creating innovative and enjoyable learning experiences for their students.
