SEAMOLEC Open Distance Learning (ODL) Webinar on "Learning from Southeast Asia: Response on Education in Coping with Covid-19"

The outbreak of Corona Virus Disease (Covid-19) has been declared as world’s pandemic and the virus has now spread to many countries and territories, including the Southeast Asia region. The government of most respective countries in Southeast Asia take precautions which are necessary to prevent further transmission, reduce the impacts of the outbreak and support control measures. One of the first actions were closing schools and universities as the protection of children and educational facilities is particularly important.

No country is fully prepared to face these educational disruptions. However, this pandemic provides opportunities for the world to reflect on how to ensure quality education mainstream and ensure equitable access for all. Several action principles are emerging to guide our collective response in Southeast Asia and the wider region.

SEAMOLEC as the regional centre for open and distance learning finds it is important for all Southeast Asian countries to learn from each other on how to overcome challenges during the outbreak. Therefore, we would like to host SEAMOLEC Open Distance Learning (ODL) Webinar on "Learning from Southeast Asia: Response on Education in Coping with Covid-19" which will be held on October 20, 2020 at 1330-1600 hrs.
