Internet of Things (IoT) is a concept that refers to the connection and interaction between electronic devices, sensors, software, and people through the internet network. The basic idea behind IoT is to enable everyday objects, both physical objects and electronic devices, to communicate and exchange data automatically without requiring human intervention.
The implementation of IoT is not only limited to everyday life but also in various fields, including Education. IoT can be used to enhance the learning experience through solutions such as smart classrooms, real-time student performance monitoring and analysis, and facilitating distance learning.
SEAMOLEC conducted a webinar titled "SEAMOLEC Inspires: Innovative Strategy Introducing Internet of Things (IoT) in Education System." This event served as a platform for speakers to share best practices related to the implementation of IoT in the educational environment.
The webinar was held online through SEAMOLEC's official YouTube channel on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, from 13.00 to 15.30 WIB. Also present in the opening session was Dr. Wahyudi, the Director of SEAMOLEC, who encouraged participants to listen and make use of the materials and Q&A sessions provided. The webinar was officially opened by Mr. Didi Rustam, the Head of Administrative Affairs, Deputy Director-General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture.
The event was moderated by the moderator, Velayeti Nurfitriana Ansas, S.Pd, M.Pd from the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Four main speakers who inspired attended this event, namely Dr.Eng. Sandi Rahmadika, S.T., M.Eng., M.T from State University of Padang, Ms. Kristin Halisa Fau from SMK SMTI Bandar Lampung, Mr. Muhammad Hasyim Ashari from Bina Rahayu Vocational High School, and Mr. Kennedi Sembiring from Politeknik Kelautan dan Perikanan Pangandaran.
Speakers from various educational institutions backgrounds provided valuable insights into their experiences in implementing IoT in their respective schools or universities. Each speaker was given 20 minutes to present their best practices. Webinar participants followed the event through SEAMOLEC's official YouTube channel, where they could directly watch the speakers' presentations. Additionally, the Q&A session was filled with enthusiastic questions from participants, tactfully answered by the speakers.
This activity was held as part of SEAMOLEC's efforts to support and introduce new technologies, such as IoT, into the education system. Through various forms of assistance and events like this webinar, SEAMOLEC continues to strive for the advancement of education in Indonesia by introducing relevant and beneficial innovations for the progress of education in the country.
