The Ministry of Education and Culture (MoEC) of Indonesia hosted the National Council of MoEC (RNPK) 2018 at Training Centre of MoEC, Sawangan, Depok. The RNPK was held on 5-7 February 2018 with the theme “Strengthening Education, Advancing Culture”.
RNPK 2018 was officially opened on Tuesday, 6 February 2018 by the President of Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Joko Widodo accompanied by Coordinating Minister for Human and Culture Development Mdm. Puan Maharani and Minister of Education and Culture Mr. Muhajir Effendy. The Vice President of Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Jusuf Kalla was also attended the RNPK 2018 on the following day, Wednesday, 7 February 2018. RNPK 2018 also had a special exhibition area on education and culture with the theme “Working Performance of MoEC”. SEAMOLEC participated in the RNPK exhibition at the special booth of Technology for Learning, displaying its flagships programmes; AR-VR content and SIERRA.
In his visit to RNPK 2018 Exhibition, Mr. President also visited SEAMOLEC’s booth and saw Keris Museum and Sumpah Pemuda Museum developed in 3D Virtual Museum by SEAMOLEC’s technicians. He also saw a demonstration about Augmented Reality (AR) developed by Indonesian students who won SEAMEO Online Training competition about AR. Not only that, Mr. President Joko Widodo also got explanation about a mini server product developed by SEAMOLEC for remote areas.
The Vice President, Mr. Jusuf Kalla tried the Virtual Reality (VR) about Indonesian Animals using the special VR glasses. He also got interested in the mini server for remote areas which is not only installed in Indonesia, but also in Kinabalu, Malaysia. The mini server was also used by students who study at several learning centers in palm oil plantation areas in Kinabalu.
