In celebrating Indonesian National Education Day (HARDIKNAS) 2019, the Ministry of Education and Culture (MoEC) of Indonesia held the Education and Culture Week which was officially opened by the Minister of Education and Culture, Prof. Dr. Muhajir Effendy, M.A.P on Friday April 26, 2019 at MoEC office, Jakarta. The event was marked by the release of hundreds of birds by the Minister together with the officials and staff of MoEC, teachers, and students of basic and secondary education.
Various activities were conducted in the Education and Culture Week, one of them is Scholarship Exhibition, which provided information regarding scholarships to study abroad, opportunities for short course, and exchange programmes. SEAMEO Regional Open Learning Center (SEAMOLEC) participated by opening a booth to promote its flagship programmes, such as Online Training and In House Training which are opened for teachers, students, lecturers, and public.
At that event, SEAMOLEC also introduced the current technology used as learning tools, such as Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality. Visitors were very interested to try experiencing and using the technology as well as to register to SEAMOLEC Online Training, and they are excited to receive exclusive merchandises from SEAMOLEC.
On April 27, 2019 morning, SEAMOLEC Director, Dr. Alpha Amirrachman also joined the Interactive Talk Show hosted by MoEC. He presented about SEAMOLEC Online Training and Competition towards Education 4.0 Era, and shared the session with Coordinator of 7 SEAMEO Centres in Indonesia, Dr. Gatot Hari Priowirjanto
