A Brief Description to Indonesia

Indonesia is the world largest archipelago extending between two continents, Asia and Australia. It has a land area of 1,905,433 square kilometers (735,364 square miles) and territorial waters about four times in size. Indonesian archipelago consists of more than 17,000 islands.

Indonesia is the world fourth most populous nation. The population of Indonesia in 2000 is about 203.4 million. About 63% of the populations are concentrated most heavily on the islands of Java and Bali. Most of the population (about 64%) live in rural areas with limited access to public facilities.
